The deed is done!

I had a very dramatic shave at the Peacock Hotel in Northcote. A guy with dreadlocks down to his waist tied my hair into pigtails and a lovely comedian Celia Pacquola (go to her Comedy Festival show) auctioned them off. I got $200 for the curl in the middle of my forehead!
It was a fantastic event and Leader Newspapers (my employers) videoed it, so anyone out there in cyberland wanting to see the full reinactment will soon be able to at www.leadernews.com.au
I’d like to thank all my sponsors and the people who gave me emotional support (ie. stopped me chickening out).
It doesn’t look too bad, either…kind of growing on me :)

Of course, Heather you wouldn’t have “chickened out”….You’re a journalist and as such are brave in the face of adversity!….Be interesting to know how your children reacted or did they join you on stage and participate? Thank you for your participation in the fund raising.

Well done!! :D Good on you for doing something interesting to raise money for a good cause. I hope you enjoy your new short hair and all the fun of growing it back and trying out different styles.

I'm a journalist with Northcote and Preston Leaders. It's a fun gig because I get to find out about what's going on in my own neck of the woods and get all my mates in the paper. Oops, don't tell anyone... I have two beautiful daughters, Rose and Zoe, and a gorgeous hubby, otherwise known as the Preston Plonker - but that's another story...
